How Long Should You Play Online Poker

One great thing about playing poker online is that it is always on all the time.  But one of the worst things about it is that it is always on all the time.  If you are a poker player and you play most of the time online, you have to live with this and you have to understand that it could be a good thing but a bad thing at the same time.  To be successful, you therefore have to set a timeframe for you to play online.

With that said, you should avoid playing when you know that you have only a limited amount of time for playing.  For example, if you are scheduled to do something 45 minutes from now and you are free at the moment, do not try to use that 45 minutes in playing online poker.  If you do so, you are placing your bankroll at a great risk.

Remember that one of the most basic principles to succeeding in poker is that you should not play too many hands.  If you have a short amount of time to play, it could impair your judgment and make you want to play mediocre hands.  Let's say that at the onset, you are dealt a string of good hands.  You cannot expect luck to be on your side for the whole duration of your limited time.  Also, if you get junk cards that you would normally fold, you could end up playing it since you want to enjoy playing.
