Horse racing bet each way?

I present my first bet on today, suitable turned 18, so don't verily understand it. I bet the stallion 'catch the stars' each way by reason of todays 3.50 at hereford.Catch the stars came 3rd according to a website i mould with the results. But when i went in a descending course to the betting shop they declared it was unplaced so no procure.Why was this ?Thanks

Before placing one each way bet you should exist aware of the bookies terms....Most bookies pay put ~ each way bets as follows:5 or less runners ..... it must win.6 or seven runners..... it must finish first or second8 or again runners..... it must finish in the foremost threeIf the race is a handicap and there are 16 or more runners ~ numerous bookies will pay out on the capital four.If you have any doubts afterwards check with the cashier before placing your wager. im afraid mick is slenderly incorrectit should read4 or less runners...winner only5,6,7 runners...1st pair places8-15 runners...1st 3 placesand a handicap with 16 or more runners... 1st 4 placesthe reaped ground way terms vary between 1/5 of the difference and 1/4 of the inequality for a place.

Due to the root only having 6 runners,most betting shops would be obliged only gone a winner and 1 passage,putting it simpler only the principal two finishers get a place.
