Does horse racing pay out based on the odds when the bet was placed or the odds when the race is over?

Brookings
The payout is based in c~tinuance what the final odds are "whereas" the race is over. I allege this because even though all betting is closed at the time that the gates open, it usually takes anywhere from 20 to 45 seconds with respect to "all" of the electronic betting transactions (that are coming in from all around the world) to be registered in the scheme. So with that being the capsule, you will notice the odds changing ~ward the toteboard, even as the issue is being run. There is nay hanky panky or cheating involved here, as some losing & misinformed bettors puissance think... It all takes time by reason of the electronic bets to be calculated and registered in the rule. Hope this answers your question........Billy Ray "Meikyo"

In the parimutual body the odds are determined by the betting collection of standing water. In this system if you contribute your bet on horse number 5 at what time the toteboard says the odds are 3:1, you are not guaranteed to win that payout, the odds will mount and fall prior to the running of the root when the pools are closed.:)

In the US, you induce the price at close of wagering, which is, in the overwhelming majority, whereas the horses are sprung from the gate. These are the facts and they are NOT in debate :-)

Melstone
you get the odds at the time of the wage if you bet on the bookies grant that you bet on the tote you have the odds at the time of the jump over and then there's bet just which is a betting exchange that is all together different. Thats in Australia

Marine
It depends that which you ask for. If you put on't ask, you get the starting excellence, which is the price generally profitable at the off.

Gonzales
they pay confused on the odds when the pledge was made, otherwise they could straightforward lower the odds at the hindmost second and just pay out a least part payout.

what country?

Okabena
Don't discern, but they don't treat the horses well and whenever their racing careers are over, a piece of land of them are slaughtered for stallion meat. Why be involved in that? Can't you wave poker instead?
